The Importance of Branding
Branding is probably the most important part of communication with your audience. Branding is more than having a logo. It is about communication, attention, importance, dominance and honesty. There are plenty of people and businesses out there that think they have the best looking logo in the world but in-fact it isn’t, actually it is downright awful to the point where the business is actually putting customers off their services and they venture elsewhere.
The main objective of branding is to leave a lasting impression with your customers. Everybody knows brands such as Tesco, Nike, Facebook etc purely because their branding is striking, attractive and above all memorable. They spend gazillions on branding and marketing each year to maintain that memorable status. Fair enough these companies are massive but the principles remain the same and is ever more important for small businesses.
Small businesses must create an attractive, memorable brand in order to contribute in leaving a lasting impression with the customer. I say contribute because obviously other factors such as customer service etc. remain important when creating a good positive customer image.
Be honest with yourself when it comes to branding. If you have a logo or website that you think is the best thing since the invention of the wheel but you have received negativity then consider changing. Ask friends and family what they think as it is always better to ask others than just listening to yourself. Always remember, there is no point in having terrible branding and expecting to get lots of business because it simply won’t happen. The only person that will suffer is you. Make a change and seek professional advice on how to improve your branding and increase your visual impact.
